4 days 10+ age Timbavati, South Africa

With 13 varied habitats, Kruger National Park is home to one of the largest concentrations of birdlife and game species in Africa. Birding in the Kruger Park is a major draw card for all eco-tourists as it is reputed as being the finest birding location in Southern Africa with over 500 species, best known for its large raptor species. Download list here.

Approximately 147 mammal species occur in the park including Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino, Chacma Baboons, Hippo, Hyena, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Giraffe, Zebra, numerous antelope species, worthog, jackals, and much more. Download list here.

Dry season

April to July: Afternoons can be pleasant with cloudless skies, mornings and evenings are cold. Dry vegetation makes game viewing easier. Temperature: 9-26°C/48-79°

Wet season

September to May. Days are hot and humid; often spectacular thunderstorms. Impala breeding season brings out lots of predators; lush vegetation starts making game viewing a bit harder. Temperature: 18-34°C/64-93°F

The Timbavati, which falls within the Greater Kruger National Park, is considered a low risk malaria area. However, we encourage you to take a malaria prophylaxis – please consult with your doctor.
